Created for Worship

I like to think of my life as a journey that I am on with Jesus.  Every day has twists and turns, ups and downs, and sometimes forward, while other times backwards.  What I have learned on this journey is that I cannot live a life of Christ without Christ in my life!  In other words, my relationship with Jesus is the most important thing to me – because it is Jesus that guides me in my everyday life.  Therefore, I look forward to time spent with Jesus, fellowship with other believers, being in the Word of God, and most important – Worship!  It is the only way that I can know what God is up to in my life and where I am to serve Him.

In the book of Joshua 8:30-35, he builds an altar as Moses had commanded – an altar of whole stones that hadn’t been chiseled or shaped by an iron tool.  This is where the Israelites worshipped and made sacrifices to God.  Joshua then wrote a copy of the Law of Moses with the people watching.  The people then facing the Ark of the Covenant and the priests, offer their sacrifices and listen to the Word of God that Moses had given.  All heard the Word –including men, women, children, and foreigners that had been on the journey.

Even from the very beginning, believers in God knew that if they were to follow God’s ways, they had to be in the Word of God, be with other believers, and worship Him!  Worship is a means in which we receive God’s grace, give thanks and praise for all God has given us, and connect with Him for guidance.  We need to know God’s voice if we are going to listen for it and hear Him calling us! We are created for Worship!

What can you change in your life today that will allow more time spent with God?  How can you re-arrange your schedule so that you can worship Him?  Ask God for guidance and show Him that you want to walk with Jesus.  I promise God will work it all out.

Let us pray…Gracious God, help me to make YOU my life.  Show me ways that I can spend more time with you.  Provide a way for me to worship you.  In your name we pray, Amen.
