Know the Generosity of God…and never thirst! (John 4)

Heaven or Hell?

Why is it so easy to look at others and see the things that they are doing wrong – or at least what “I” think they are doing wrong.  Right away I have the tendency to judge others and make the decision as to, whether what they are doing or not doing is right or wrong.  This is human nature!  Judging others of their actions is something that we most likely all do.  We may not be conscious that we are judging others – but, we do it.

If you are not sure whether there is a heaven and a hell, read Matthew 25:31-46.  Jesus distinctly claims that there will be a separation as all are gathered around Him at the throne when He comes again.  Those who sit at God’s right hand will “inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (v.34).  Those who are on the left hand of God will be “accursed, depart into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (v.41).  And, how will you be judged as to whether you go to heaven or hell?  Jesus says, when we feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, welcome the stranger, clothe the naked, visit the prisoners, and comfort the sick, “Just as you do it to the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me” (v.40).

Our judgement day will come.  We will be judged on how we treat each other, how we care for one another, how we love one another, and how we forgive one another.  There is an eternal punishment and an eternal life (v.46).  Be careful to not judge others, as we do not know their hearts and their circumstances.  Guard your heart by knowing Jesus Christ and doing his work in this world.  It’s not an easy thing to do.
