Worship!

One of the things that I am learning about worship is how important music plays an integral part in the mood of the people who are participating in the worship service.  Music has the potential to change us from feeling sad, discouraged, and lonely to feeling joyous, happy, and thankful!  The music during worship has a unique way of drawing the worshippers into unity, where the Holy Spirit becomes apparent in its presence, and gives a feeling that you never want it to end.  It is absolutely amazing when that happens!  It stays with you the whole week long!

In Psalm 100:1-5, I feel those same kind of vibes when I read this Psalm where I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit.  It’s one that many people are familiar with – “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!”  For me, that is worship!  Singing, praising God with our hands lifted -up to Him, and our hearts open for the Spirit of God to enter in!  There is no doubt that the author of this Psalm wants his reader to feel the presence of the Lord and give God thanks and praise.

Let us pray…Gracious God, draw us into worship with you.  Bring us together with other Christian friends where we sing, give thanks, and praise for all that you have given to us.  Lord, we love you so much.  Amen.
